NW IRC – The Lab

Project Description

Through some mutual relationships, CPM was put in contact with a non profit organization called NW Innovations Resource Center. Headquartered in Bellingham, WA,  NWIRC is an organization that helps entrepreneurs and inventors in NW Washington develop their business strategy by finding the right tools and community resources needed to bring their ideas to life. A success story from this program is one of our very own clients, Narrative Coffee. NWIRC was looking to expand into the Everett area and open up what they now call The Lab. TheLab@everett provides access to critical resources for entrepreneurs to fast track their initiatives and startups. Members of The Lab have the advantage of accessing mentoring services as well as these valuable tools for tomorrow’s data driven technology and product development, creating fast results. The design layout on this project allowed every person coming through to work through a series of “zones”, accomplishing a different section of their business plan. They include:

  1. The Think Tank
    Co-working Space
Space for entrepreneurs to work, network and learn the latest. Bring collaboration to life with flexible drop in options or the added benefit of reservable workspace.
  2. The Frontier
    Private Incubator Offices
Private, secure workspace for emerging startups ready to have space to call their own with the benefit of innovative surroundings and services.
  3. The Workshop
    Design Thinking Space
A unique combination of an innovation lab and experience center designed for innovation, change, and flexibility. A space to think, do, learn, co-create and design smart solutions. Furnished with all the materials you will need and optional facilitation available.
  4. The Commons
    A Place to Connect
The hub for collaboration, networking, informal problem solving or a myriad of options for all members of The Lab.
  5. The Maker Space
Use 3D printers and other equipment to create your prototype with equipment and support from SnoCoMakers@TheLab.
  6. The Study
A private workspace to close yourself off from the noise for those moments when you need some creative space.
  7. NWIRC Services
NWIRC assists entrepreneurs and inventors from idea to success with individual strategy development.

The end goal is for each person to have the ability to walk out the door, armed with a business plan that can immediately launch them into success. Unique color schemes were used throughout this process and a partnership with Funko helped bring this project to life with custom wall graphics. If you are ever in need of a kick start for your own business, then look no further then NWIRC.
